This Morning’s Rylan fumes ‘haven’t got time for this’ after being ignored on TV

This Morning's Spin to Win segment has been a popular part of the show since it was introduced.

Viewers can enter the competition to be in with a chance to win a lump sum of cash, but they have to say a code word which changes on a regular basis. Rules in place include how many rings, the code word and, of course, picking up the phone.

Hosts Emma Willis and Rylan Clark kicked off the segment earlier than usual with a festive wheel, but things soon went downhill. After telling viewers at home to remember to say the passphrase, they were hit with disappointment.

The first person to be rang answered the phone with "hello", so the hosts had to move on. While the next line was ringing the duo excitedly danced, only to be met with a voicemail.

On the third attempt someone answered and again said hello, prompting Rylan to fume: "Of course this happens when we're short on time!"

They called a fourth person and eagerly awaited them answering the phone, but was hit with yet another voicemail service. Rylan added: "It's another one! Right we've got one more. I ain't got the time for this, I have not got the time."

Their fifth and final attempt saw the phone ring out before a final person answered: "Hello?" which sparked a lot of disappointment from Rylan and Emma. The audience also let out a groan as a fifth person missed their opportunity.

They said to the caller: "That's the wrong word!" The pair then announced it would need to be a rollover and they spun the wheel and added £750 to the pot.

Emma then explained: "If you fancy your luck and you want to play Spin to Win-" before Rylan chirped up: "ANSWER THE PHONE!"

She added: "The game is now open," and Rylan finished: "You just download the free This Morning app… and answer the phone."

The pair weren't alone in their frustrations as viewers flocked to X, formerly Twitter, to write: "FFS people. If you're going to play Spin to Win then play it properly!"

Another said: "Why don't they change the phrase to 'hello'?" While a third wrote: "Why enter then not answer or say the pass phrase? Ring me!"

Rylan and Emma have been hosting the morning show this week with fans already calling for them to replace Holly Willoughby and Phillip Schofield. A permanent replacement is yet to be confirmed.

This Morning continues weekdays on ITV at 10am.
