The Chase fans ask is this real? as they spot teams unusual link during show

The Chase viewers went wild after spotting that the latest contestants shared their names with members of The Simpsons.

As Tuesday's episode (24 October) of the ITV quiz show got under way, viewers noticed that the panel of four contestants featured a Marge, a Maggie, a Lisa and a Bart – the names of four members of the animated family. All they needed was a Homer to have the whole crew.

Host Bradley Walsh picked up on the odd coincidence, joking that he had The Simpsons on the show. And viewers were left wondering whether it was an accident.

"Are these the contestants real names?" one fan posted on X, which was formerly Twitter. "Now this is crazy or is it just me or is everyone on todayโ€™s episode of #TheChase have to be named after Simpsons characters????" asked another baffled viewer.

"Why are all the names from the Simpsons," asked someone else, as another baffled fan asked: "The Simpsons Chase, what the hell?" "Itโ€™s the Simpsons on #thechase lol," giggled one tickled viewer.

"Now this is really strange as I see the Simpsons are on The Chase tonight then…" posted another fan. One person said they were "loving" the whole theme.

"I literally thought that seeing the Simpsons Lisa, Bart, Maggie and Marge appear on the #TheChase was just a prank…" remarked someone else. "F****** brilliant," chimed in one viewer. One person joked: "A team with the names of The Simpsons… Shouldn't it be Marge wearing green, not Lisa?"

The joke ramped up when Lisa went first and did well, seeing as Lisa Simpson is the brightest member of the cartoon family. "Well done Lisa!" posted one impressed fan.

Someone else teased: "I was hoping, when asked her hometown, Lisa would have said Springfield."
